Etheria: Restart has begun SS6.4, titled Eidolon Scourge, an extended closing chapter for the SS6 Pyrite Nyx anniversary season. Running from November 4 through December 2, the update introduces Thalos, expands the game’s competitive Summit Arena rules with a new affinity-restricted draft option, and adds convenience features built around claiming daily rewards and making shop purchases.

The longer-range headline, though, is SS7. Etheria: Restart is preparing a global collaboration with Arc System Works that will bring three Guilty Gear -Strive- characters into its roster. The crossover characters will arrive as Animuses from a new faction. Their identities, kits, SS7 timing, and other collaboration details have not yet been disclosed.

For now, SS6.4 gives players a new character to assess and a substantially different way to approach arena drafting. It is an update aimed at both ends of the game’s routine: the high-stakes choices of PvP team construction and the repeated daily chores that can pile up in a live-service RPG.

Thalos arrives as a durable support option

SS6.4’s new Animus is Thalos, vice-captain of the Elysian faction’s Third Manhunter Corps. His stated role is a defense-oriented support character, which suggests his value lies less in quickly defeating opponents and more in keeping a team functional through pressure.

Several parts of his announced toolkit point to that identity. Thalos can use Damage-Over-Time effects, including Infernal Flame; absorb damage intended for allies; resist control effects through immunity; and revive himself on a later turn with a percentage of his maximum HP.

Damage-Over-Time, often shortened to DoT, refers to an effect that deals damage across subsequent turns rather than all at once. It can be especially useful in prolonged fights because it maintains pressure while a support-oriented unit performs defensive duties. The information available does not specify Infernal Flame’s damage values, duration, targeting rules, or whether it has extra interactions, so players will need to wait for the in-game details before judging its exact combat ceiling.

Damage absorption is more direct in practical terms: Thalos can take incoming harm on behalf of allies. In a team game, that sort of protection can be important for preserving vulnerable damage dealers or other utility characters long enough to use their abilities. Control immunity means Thalos is not affected by the game’s relevant control effects while that immunity applies. The exact list of effects and activation conditions have not been detailed, but the broad strategic implication is clear: a defender who cannot easily be interrupted is more dependable at carrying out a protective role.

His self-revival adds a separate layer of endurance. Rather than being permanently removed after a defeat, Thalos can return on a later turn with part of his maximum health. That does not automatically make a character invincible—his restored health is only a percentage of his maximum HP, and the supplied information does not outline every condition—but it does mean opponents may need to account for him twice in a fight.

Together, those tools paint Thalos as an attrition-focused character. He has a persistent damage source, team protection, resistance to disruption, and a route back into battle after being taken down. That combination could make him particularly relevant in matches where survival, turn order, and steady incremental advantage matter as much as burst damage. It is analysis based on the revealed abilities, not a claim about his final power level; complete skill numbers, cooldowns, and interactions remain essential to that judgment.

Prowess Up rewards are tied to building Thalos

SS6.4 also includes a limited-time Prowess Up event. Players who maximize Thalos’ potential during the event can earn exclusive in-game rewards. The update description does not identify those rewards or explain every resource requirement associated with reaching maximum potential, but the event creates a clear short-term incentive for players investing in the new Animus while Eidolon Scourge is active.

That makes the season’s calendar relevant even for players more interested in the forthcoming crossover. SS6.4 ends on December 2, while the Guilty Gear -Strive- collaboration belongs to SS7 and has no detailed schedule announced yet. The two are connected by Etheria: Restart’s continuing seasonal roadmap, but they are not the same release.

Summit Arena gets an affinity-restricted draft

The largest rules addition in SS6.4 is a new draft choice in Summit Arena, Etheria: Restart’s PvP mode. At the beginning of a match, players choose from a set of character-affinity combinations. Once a combination is selected, they may field only combatants whose affinity matches the selection.

An affinity-restricted draft changes the question players are answering before a battle begins. Instead of solely selecting individual characters on their standalone strength or familiar team pairings, players must build within an affiliation constraint. The rule can reward broader roster preparation and knowledge of which units can cover key jobs—damage, protection, control resistance, or sustained pressure—inside a permitted affinity combination.

It may also reshape counterplay. A strong character is only useful if the chosen draft combination allows that character onto the field. Conversely, an opponent’s likely options may be narrower once their affinity selection is known. The format therefore places extra importance on adaptation during the draft rather than treating team selection as a fixed pre-match routine.

The update does not provide the complete list of affinity combinations, exact draft flow, or balancing rules. Those omissions matter, since the available combinations determine how restrictive or flexible the system actually feels. Still, the central mechanic is straightforward: character eligibility is no longer open-ended for matches using this draft option.

SS6.4 also increases win points during the Summit Arena Special Season. In addition, players below Platinum rank will not lose points after a defeat. The latter is a notable softer landing for players climbing early and middle portions of the ladder: a loss still does not advance rank, but it does not erase points already earned. That can encourage players to try the new format without the same risk of a backward step until they reach Platinum.

For competitive players, the practical takeaway is to inspect the affinities of reliable roster members before entering the new format. A team that works well in unrestricted conditions may not translate cleanly if its core pieces do not share a permitted combination. Players with several options across affinities should have more room to adjust, while those with a concentrated roster may want to identify alternative units that can fulfill essential roles.

Daily management gets a Seneschal

Outside combat, SS6.4 adds the Seneschal Chaku, described as a “smart-butler” feature. It allows players to claim rewards from daily activities and make one-click shop purchases.

A seneschal traditionally manages a household or estate, making the name an appropriate fit for a menu-level assistant that handles routine administration. In game terms, its purpose is to reduce friction around recurring actions rather than alter battles directly. Repeated daily reward claims and small shop transactions are common live-service tasks; consolidating them can leave more time for team-building, events, and arena matches.

The update also includes an auto-matched arena event and a banner pull event, alongside new and returning activities. No further mechanics, reward lists, or schedules for those activities have been provided, so players should treat them as confirmed parts of the season rather than assume details that have not been announced.

What is known about the Guilty Gear -Strive- collaboration

The crossover was revealed during the October TapTap Games Showcase and pairs Etheria: Restart with Arc System Works’ Guilty Gear -Strive-. Three characters from the fighting game will enter Etheria: Restart as Animuses belonging to a new faction.

The wording establishes several useful boundaries. There will be three characters, they are planned for SS7, and they are not simply being placed into an existing faction. Beyond that, key information remains pending. No character names have been confirmed, and there are no announced abilities, acquisition methods, story elements, limited-time event structure, or launch date for SS7.

That leaves room for excitement, but not certainty. Players should be cautious about treating roster predictions as announcements, especially where the crossover’s faction mechanics and character kits are concerned. The confirmed promise is substantial on its own: three Guilty Gear -Strive- additions are on the way, and Etheria: Restart intends to integrate them into the Animus framework rather than present them as an unrelated side attraction.

SS6.4 is available worldwide now and runs until December 2. Etheria: Restart can be played on PC, iOS, and Android. Players looking to keep up with the day’s wider PC release slate can also see games releasing on November 4, 2026.
