Compatibility fixes and targeted patches
Bachata S4+ version 0.2.6 is available as an Android APK. The update fixes compatibility issues affecting Driveclub, MediEvil and Black Ops II.
Driveclub receives a compatibility fix and a performance patch. Black Ops II also receives both types of update, while FIFA 23 gets a new performance patch. These are game-specific changes rather than a general performance claim for the emulator.
Android interface fixes
The release fixes storage permission requests that occur when selecting the folder used for PKG installation.
It also fixes the patch screen’s rotation behavior. The release notes do not provide further details about the affected orientations or devices.
An experimental PS4 emulator for ARM64 Android
Bachata S4+ is an independent community project for experimental PlayStation 4 emulation on ARM64 Android devices. It originated from Android binary releases associated with Bachata S4 and has received independent compatibility work, Android interface changes, controller improvements and runtime experimentation. It is not an official Bachata S4 release or a Sony Interactive Entertainment product.
The project includes work involving FEX as an x86 and x86-64 userspace execution layer on ARM64 devices. Box64 integration remains experimental. Compatibility can vary with the game, device, graphics driver, Android version, execution backend and emulator settings.
What users should expect
PlayStation 4 emulation on Android remains experimental. Depending on the title and device, a game may run normally, reach gameplay with graphical or performance problems, freeze, crash, render incorrectly or have input and audio issues. Reaching gameplay does not establish that a title is playable from beginning to end.
Bachata S4+ is intended for use with legally obtained software. The project does not distribute PlayStation 4 games, firmware, decryption keys or other copyrighted console data.
