BloodRayne’s 25th-anniversary campaign is taking shape across comics, clothing and console releases. The newly outlined plans include a crowdfunding campaign for a comic collection in the first quarter of 2027, a limited-run apparel capsule from Night Channels, and a detailed production-status update for BloodRayne: Definitive Collection.
For fans trying to separate what is available now from what remains in development, the short version is straightforward: the Night Channels apparel is on sale while supplies last; the comic has a live pre-launch page but its Kickstarter has not started; and the game collection has cleared major approval steps, although one Nintendo Switch physical patch remains in certification review.
A BloodRayne comic campaign is planned for early 2027
The upcoming comic project is being produced by Roditeli Productions and is scheduled to launch through Kickstarter during the first quarter of 2027. It is positioned as part of the franchise’s 25th anniversary, with a pre-launch page already active.
The announced reward plan centers on items that will be tied specifically to the campaign. These include Kickstarter-exclusive editions of the first issue, exclusive variant covers, and campaign-exclusive BloodRayne merchandise. The artists for the variant covers have not yet been announced, so collectors should treat those covers as a future detail rather than a fully defined product lineup.
In crowdfunding terms, a pre-launch page is not the same as an open campaign. It provides an early place to follow a project before pledges can be made. Likewise, “Kickstarter-exclusive” describes a version or item intended for backers through that campaign; it does not, by itself, define print quantities, later retail availability, shipping timing, or the complete reward structure. Those questions will need answers once the campaign page and its pledge tiers go live.
The creative team
Kevin Roditeli is writing the 2027 series, with art by BRÄO. Felipe Cagno is contributing expanded-universe stories, assisted by Andy Lanning and Ant Williams. Serge LaPointe is handling lettering and design, while Chris Stevens is the editor.
The phrase expanded universe generally means stories that build outward from a franchise’s established setting or characters rather than simply adapting the events of an existing game. That tells readers something about the stated intent—new material connected to BloodRayne’s world—but it does not establish the stories’ placement in continuity or reveal their plots. No story synopsis, issue count, release cadence, or cover-art lineup has been detailed yet.
Roditeli Productions arrives with prior crowdfunding experience. Its earlier SWAT Kats campaign raised more than $1 million from over 7,000 backers, and it has also run a POSTAL comic campaign. That history is meaningful as evidence that the production team has handled a large comics crowdfunding effort before. It should not be read as a guarantee of the BloodRayne project’s funding result, scope, fulfillment schedule, or final set of rewards; every campaign has its own costs, audience and logistics.

Night Channels launches a limited BloodRayne apparel capsule
The one portion of the anniversary push that can be purchased immediately is the Night Channels x BloodRayne apparel capsule. It is described as Ziggurat Interactive’s first merchandise collaboration, combining classic BloodRayne artwork with Night Channels’ high-contrast visual approach.
The capsule uses blood red, bone white and black as its central palette. Its initial range comprises:
- BloodRayne Logo Embroidered Hat
- BloodRayne Limited Jumbo Print Boxy Tee
- BloodRayne レイン (Japanese) Heavy Tee
- BloodRayne Рейн (Russian) Heavy Tee
- BloodRayne Title/Load Art Heavy Tee/Hoodie
- BloodRayne Brimstone Society Sweats
“Capsule” is fashion-industry shorthand for a limited, focused release rather than a permanent broad clothing catalogue. Here, the practical detail is the stated while-supplies-last availability. That makes it different from the planned comic Kickstarter: shoppers can buy the announced clothing now, but there is no promise in the available information that any item will be restocked or retained as an ongoing product.
The multilingual shirt names are also worth reading carefully. レイン is Japanese katakana used for “Rein,” while Рейн is rendered in Cyrillic. They identify individual designs in the collection; they do not indicate separate game localizations, new regional editions, or additional BloodRayne releases.
What BloodRayne: Definitive Collection includes
BloodRayne: Definitive Collection packages three existing remastered or refreshed entries: BloodRayne: ReVamped, BloodRayne 2: ReVamped and BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites. The collection also brings performance improvements for consoles.
Its planned platform split is important. Physical editions are slated for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. Digital editions are slated for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox Series. Nothing in the currently available details indicates physical editions for the PlayStation 4 or Xbox platforms, so prospective physical-media buyers should not assume that a digital platform listing means a disc or cartridge is planned there.

PlayStation 5 status
On PlayStation 5, all three games have been approved and are ready for production for both digital-only and physical editions. That is the clearest status across the announced platforms, but “ready for production” is still a production milestone—not a release date, a ship date, or confirmation that orders are already being taken.
Approval in this context means the relevant platform-holder process has been cleared for the identified editions. It does not reveal the exact nature of the performance improvements, whether every game will receive identical technical changes, or how the release will be priced and distributed.
Nintendo Switch status is further along than it first sounds—but not fully complete
The Nintendo Switch update needs more careful parsing because the digital and physical paths are not at precisely the same stage.
- Performance patches for BloodRayne and BloodRayne 2 are approved and certified for the digital-only edition.
- The physical-edition patch for BloodRayne is approved and certified.
- The physical-edition patch for BloodRayne 2 remains in certification review with Nintendo.
A patch is an update to game software, often used to address performance, compatibility or other technical changes. Certification is the platform-holder review process required before software or updates can be released on that platform. The distinction matters for physical games: a physical release may need its own approved build or patch arrangement, separate from the digital edition’s approval status.
Accordingly, the Switch version is not described as fully production-ready across every physical component yet. The outstanding review concerns the physical patch for BloodRayne 2. No outcome or timetable for that certification review has been provided, so a completed certification should not be presumed until it is formally confirmed.
Product art is approved, but dates are still absent
Product art for the collection has been designed and approved. That is a tangible step for the physical presentation, likely encompassing the visual material used for the product, but it does not establish the final contents of a box, disc, cartridge, insert or bonus item. No edition breakdown beyond physical versus digital has been given.
There is also no announced release date or shipping date for BloodRayne: Definitive Collection. Fans should be cautious with the word “shipping” in broader anniversary messaging: the available update supplies certification and production progress, not a promise of when completed physical editions will leave a warehouse.
What remains to be announced
The anniversary initiative gives BloodRayne followers three distinct ways to engage with the franchise, each at a different point in its life cycle. The apparel collection is the immediate option; the comic is a forthcoming crowdfunding proposition; and the game collection is advancing through platform approval and production preparations.
Key unresolved details include the comic’s campaign tiers, its variant-cover artists, the comic stories themselves, the collection’s exact launch and shipping timing, and the final status of the outstanding Switch physical patch review for BloodRayne 2. Further updates are expected from the companies involved as those items are announced.
