Bachata S4+ 0.2.3 targets four games
Bachata S4+ version 0.2.3 was published on September 26, 2026, as an Android APK for this experimental PlayStation 4 emulation project. The update adds performance patches for inFAMOUS Second Son, inFAMOUS First Light, EA Sports UFC 4 and Ratchet & Clank.
These are game-specific changes rather than a general promise of faster emulation across every title. Bachata S4+ says compatibility can vary with the Android device, graphics driver, emulator settings, selected execution backend and game version, so the practical result may differ between configurations.
Color, memory and display fixes
A new RGB/BGRA Color Fix toggle is available for games that show inverted colors when using glibc. This gives users a way to address that rendering problem without treating the correction as a universal setting for every game.
The release also includes a RAM fix for devices with 12 GB of memory. Full-screen behavior has been fixed, and the option to hide the controller has been corrected, improving display space and control over the Android interface during play.
Bachata S4+ additionally adds compatibility for Bionic drivers. The release notes say the driver must be imported, making this a relevant setup consideration for users whose configuration relies on that driver support.
A workaround for Second Son motion input
Version 0.2.3 includes a control workaround for inFAMOUS Second Son, whose motion-based interactions can require controller movement and touchpad input. The workaround maps those actions to ordinary controller inputs.
L1 plus R1 enables or disables the synthetic motion-control mode. The right stick controls the simulated controller tilt used by motion interactions, while R3 performs a simulated controller shake.
L3 plus R3 simulates the two-finger touchpad interaction along with touchpad input. The D-pad provides simulated touchpad swipes in the corresponding direction. These mappings are intended to make the affected interactions usable without relying on physical motion gestures.
What Bachata S4+ is
Bachata S4+ is an independent community project focused on experimental PlayStation 4 emulation on ARM64 Android devices. Android is the host platform; the software is intended to emulate PlayStation 4 games rather than run as a native PlayStation 4 application.
The project builds on an Android binary base associated with Bachata S4 and includes independent work around compatibility, controller support, Android interface behavior, FEX and Box64 execution experiments, Vulkan compatibility and game-specific fixes. FEX and Box64 are experimental approaches for running x86 or x86-64 software on ARM64 hardware.
The project warns that PlayStation 4 emulation on Android remains experimental. A game may boot, reach gameplay with problems, freeze, crash, render incorrectly or experience audio and input issues. A title reaching gameplay is not necessarily fully playable from start to finish, and compatibility may change between releases.
Availability and release context
The 0.2.3 release is distributed as the APK named Bachata-S4-Plus-v0.2.3.apk. The project identifies this build as an experimental public release, and its release notes do not provide a broader compatibility list beyond the four games receiving performance patches.
Bachata S4+ is not an official release of Bachata S4 and is not affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment. It does not distribute PlayStation 4 games, firmware, decryption keys or other copyrighted console content.
