A broader legality pass
PKHeX, a Windows Forms Pokémon core-series save editor, released version 26.08.26 on August 27, 2026. This stable update adds recursive Egg Move inheritance checks for Generations 2 through 5, helping verify movesets built through multi-step breeding chains.
The release also adds Generation 4 My Pokémon Ranch IV reversal support, improves LCRNG seed recovery, and introduces Generation 5 Global Link promotion language restrictions alongside additional Mystery Gift restrictions derived from card data. RNG reversal and lattice recovery implementations were also revised for better performance, according to the project notes.
Generation-specific fixes and new data
Generation 4 encounter and Egg generation received several corrections, including accurate Platinum learnsets and improved handling for traded Eggs from HeartGold and SoulSilver. PKHeX also fixes Pokégear caller checks so same-gender rivals are excluded where appropriate.
Pokémon Battle Revolution handling receives fixes for sanity-flag processing and string-length behavior. The update further adds Pokémon Stadium 2 save handling that compresses slots and ignores ghost slots, plus encounter crossover data for Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
More control in everyday editing
The Batch Editor now supports undo and redo, reports how many slots are affected during an edit, and has improved reset and apply behavior. These changes give users more visibility and a way to reverse broad save edits.
SaveFinder gains cancellation support and improved drive-type detection. Network and CD drives are skipped, a change intended to avoid startup hangs during save searches. Translation resources were updated as well.
What PKHeX supports
PKHeX edits and saves Pokémon data from supported save files, GameCube Memory Card files, individual Pokémon entities, Mystery Gifts, and other listed formats. It can also convert data between generations and import Pokémon GO Park entities, teams from decrypted 3DS Battle Videos, Pokémon Showdown sets, and QR codes.
PKHeX is a Windows save editor for Pokémon games. Before editing a console save, you need to export it with a save manager such as Checkpoint or JKSM. The save must be decrypted so PKHeX can read it.
