FireRed and LeafGreen transfers get broader support

PKHeX 26.10.18 recognizes FireRed and LeafGreen Virtual Console Pokémon transferred to Pokémon HOME. The update also enhances legality checks for those transfers, particularly around breeding and exclusive egg moves. This gives the editor more information for evaluating whether a Pokémon’s recorded details fit its origin and transfer path.

FireRed and LeafGreen Virtual Console Pokémon can also be converted directly from Gen 3 to Pokémon HOME through the Entity Converter settings. The option is available when configuring the converter for that transfer path.

More detailed checks for older-generation data

Legality analysis for Gen 3 and Gen 4 Pokémon now checks whether enough experience was gained to produce the recorded effort values. This adds an experience-based consistency check to the editor’s legality analysis.

The release also changes the handling of WCS 2026 Greninja. It is no longer treated as expired, and no end date is currently known.

Gen 4 Battle Video tools arrive

PKHeX now supports importing and exporting Gen 4 Battle Videos, with a quick preview for those files. The new tools add Battle Video data to the formats that can be handled within the editor.

A Gift Ribbon editor is also available for Gen 3 and Gen 4. It provides a dedicated way to review and edit Gift Ribbon data in supported Pokémon records.

Expanded PC Box wallpaper options

The update adds missing PC Box wallpaper options and names for Gen 3, Pokémon Colosseum and XD, Pokémon Battle Revolution, Gen 4 and Gen 5, and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Custom Ruby and Sapphire wallpaper is included as well.

These additions provide more complete wallpaper choices and labels when working with the visual organization of supported save data.

Batch editing and mailbox fixes

The Batch Editor now applies slot writes correctly, saves all changed party slots and handles invalid filter input. These fixes improve the reliability of batch operations involving party data and filtering.

The Gen 3 Mailbox editor now handles individual Unown forms correctly, improving its treatment of mailbox entries containing different Unown forms.

Parsing and Pokémon GO data improvements

Gen 6 Player Search System parsing now reads every populated contact within a block. This allows the parser to process all populated contacts stored in that section of the data.

GO Park complex summaries now map Pokémon GO move IDs to their core-series move equivalents, making those move records easier to interpret in the editor.

Other update details and supported data

The Switch badword list has been updated to version 23.0.0. This updates the data used when handling prohibited or restricted text in Switch-related content.

PKHeX is a Pokémon core-series save editor for Windows. It can open supported save files, GameCube Memory Card files containing Pokémon save data, individual Pokémon files, Mystery Gift files and GO Park entities. It also supports transfers between generations, including the necessary format conversions, and can import teams from decrypted 3DS Battle Videos. Pokémon Showdown sets and QR codes can be imported and exported for sharing.

The application presents save data in an editable view and can save changes. It expects save files that are not encrypted with console-specific keys, meaning users need decrypted save data rather than files still protected by console encryption. PKHeX edits save and Pokémon data on the host computer; it is not itself a Pokémon game running on a modified console.

Version 26.10.18 was published on October 19, 2026. The release combines the new transfer, legality, Battle Video, ribbon and wallpaper features with fixes affecting batch editing, parsing and data presentation.
