Greek becomes the seventh interface language
NX Torrent Player Mod version 0.0.9.2 is now available for Nintendo Switch homebrew. The update adds Greek, shown as Ελληνικά, as the project’s seventh system language. Greek is available through Settings, Options, and Language, with more than 560 interface strings translated across menus, playback settings, offline downloads, the local file browser, the Stremio library, the player, and system dialogs.
The translation also covers contextual button hints and footer actions such as Accept, Back, Exit, Cancel, and Submit. Greek characters and accented vowels are supported in the interface, while subtitles use the integrated FreeSans typeface for Greek text rendering.
Greek audio and subtitles get first-class handling
Greek can now be selected independently for subtitle and audio preferences under Settings and Playback. The player recognizes common Greek language identifiers, including el, ell, gre, and greek, across internal MKV and MP4 tracks, OpenSubtitles results, and community Stremio addons.
The update also adds sticky subtitle selection for Greek. When a Greek subtitle track is available, the player automatically prioritizes it rather than requiring the preferred track to be selected again for every video. Online track names are translated according to the console’s selected interface language, so the same source can appear with Greek, English, or localized labels in the track menu.
Greek subtitle characters are supported through the integrated FreeSans font. The project’s broader subtitle system also includes coverage for Cyrillic, Arabic, and extended Latin characters, allowing international tracks to remain readable within the player.
Online subtitle results increase from 40 to 120
The Stremio subtitle limit has been raised from 40 to 120 tracks. Previously, popular films and series with many English, Spanish, or Portuguese variants could use up the available result slots before less common languages reached the player. The larger pool gives Greek, Turkish, Polish, Romanian, and other international subtitle options more room to appear in the track menu.
This is particularly useful when several versions of the same language are returned by OpenSubtitles or community addons. The player can now receive a wider set of results before presenting the available choices, reducing the chance that a desired language is excluded simply because a title has many competing subtitle files.
Subtitle synchronization now covers larger timing gaps
Subtitle delay adjustment has been expanded from a maximum of plus or minus 10 seconds to plus or minus 120 seconds. That wider range is intended for larger timing differences between releases, including cases where an introduction, recap, or distributor segment causes a WEB-DL and Blu-ray version to start at different points.
The playback panel adds more precise controls for correcting those offsets. L and R adjust the delay in 0.1-second increments, while ZL and ZR make faster one-second changes and can repeat while held. Pressing Y resets the offset to zero. Together, these controls make it possible to correct both small sync errors and much larger mismatches without leaving playback.
Stability fixes address navigation and background work
Version 0.0.9.2 also consolidates several fixes for crashes and stalled navigation. Returning to the Home tab after switching to Continue Watching or Library now refreshes the view correctly instead of leaving the Home button unresponsive. The change restores the view tree, focus, and content rows when moving between tabs.
Changing the application language immediately after launch no longer relies on closing and reopening activities. The interface is reloaded in place, preserving the navigation stack while invalidating callbacks connected to old poster rows. Catalog regeneration is deferred while the Options screen is open, allowing the main view to refresh when the user returns to it. Internationalization reads and loads are also protected against concurrent access from background work such as update checks.
Another fix targets rapid back navigation from a film or series detail page. If source, stream, or high-resolution artwork requests were still running when the user pressed B, callbacks could reach views that had already been destroyed. The updated lifecycle handling invalidates the page as it disappears, cancels in-flight work before the closing animation, and resumes catalog loading on the main-thread cycle.
What the Switch application provides
NX Torrent Player Mod is a Nintendo Switch multimedia application built around Stremio catalogs, torrent and Debrid streams, local playback, and offline downloads to the console’s microSD card. Its interface supports controller and touch input, while the player provides audio and subtitle track selection, subtitle delay controls, playback speed adjustment, stream retry, and local file browsing.
The project also includes a Stremio Home view with addon catalogs, Continue Watching and Library synchronization, a microSD file browser, and a download manager. Its README describes support for common local video formats and playback through an mpv-based media engine. These capabilities are project background rather than changes introduced specifically by version 0.0.9.2; the current release concentrates on localization, international subtitle handling, and reliability.
The application is intended for a Nintendo Switch running custom firmware and is launched as homebrew through the Homebrew Menu. The documented launch method uses Title Override by holding R while opening an installed game, rather than the more memory-limited Album applet mode.
Installation
The release includes the NX-torrent-player.nro application file. To install it, copy the file to sdmc:/switch/NX-torrent-player/NX-torrent-player.nro on the console’s microSD card, then launch it from the Homebrew Menu using the documented Title Override method.
