FAT32-friendly output for offline repairs

NAND Fix Pro 2.4 is now available for Windows with a focused improvement to its offline repair workflow. Results from all three repair levels can now be exported as split NAND files compatible with FAT32 storage, making the output easier to use in storage setups that cannot hold one large file.

The update applies specifically to offline processing of Nintendo Switch NAND backups. NAND is the console’s internal storage image, containing system and user partitions that repair tools may need to rebuild or restore. Splitting a large image into numbered parts allows it to be handled on FAT32 media while preserving the complete data set across those files.

Level 1 and Level 2 retain the source format

Level 1 and Level 2 processing now preserves the format of the source backup or emuMMC input. This allows the tool to retain the format associated with the material being repaired instead of treating every input as the same type of NAND image.

For users working with existing backups or SD-based emuMMC files, that should make the generated result better suited to the workflow from which it came. The release notes specifically identify this preservation behavior for Level 1 and Level 2; Level 3 receives the new FAT32-compatible split export capability but is not described as preserving a source format.

Earlier validation of split inputs

The update also adds validation for split inputs before processing begins in Level 1 and Level 2. NAND Fix Pro can work with Hekate-style split backups and emuMMC SD file layouts, where one image is represented by multiple numbered files. Checking those inputs before repair helps identify an invalid or incomplete set earlier in the process, rather than allowing processing to continue with unsuitable source data.

This is particularly relevant to offline repair, where the application works on a backup file rather than a live device. A complete and valid source set is needed for the repair output to represent the intended NAND image and its associated files.

What NAND Fix Pro does

NAND Fix Pro is a Windows graphical utility for Nintendo Switch NAND repair. It offers live workflows for Hekate-mounted eMMC or emuMMC targets as well as offline workflows that operate on NAND backups. The project presents its repair system in three levels, ranging from a system restoration intended to preserve user data to complete NAND reconstruction for severe failures.

Level 1 restores core system files while preserving the existing user data described by the project. Level 2 can rebuild a wider set of partitions and includes an advanced USER-partition repair option, but those operations erase user data. Level 3 is the most extensive recovery path: it reconstructs a complete NAND using a donor PRODINFO file and a pre-built NAND skeleton, and it is intended for cases where the original NAND or PRODINFO is unavailable or damaged.

The application brings several supporting operations into one interface, including split NAND handling, emuMMC layout detection, console-model detection for Erista and Mariko hardware, required-file checks, logging, and free-space validation. It also uses community tools such as EmmcHaccGen, NxNandManager, and OSFMount behind the graphical workflow. These capabilities are project background rather than changes introduced by version 2.4.

Using the new export behavior safely

The new export support is most useful when the repaired result needs to be moved to or used from FAT32-formatted storage. The output remains a set of split NAND files rather than a single file, so the complete numbered set should be kept together when it is transferred or used for a later operation.

NAND repair can write directly to a console’s internal eMMC when used through the documented live workflow, so the project’s existing safety precautions remain important. The README recommends creating a full NAND backup before attempting repairs and warns that interrupted writes, disconnected cables, or incorrect files can permanently damage the console. Level 2 and Level 3 operations also have documented data-loss consequences: a full rebuild erases user data, while complete recovery overwrites the NAND.

The release does not change those repair risks or turn an offline result into a live console operation. It improves how offline results are prepared, particularly for FAT32-based storage and split backup layouts.

Version 2.4 availability

NAND Fix Pro version 2.4 was published on September 25, 2026. The release is available as a Windows executable and a compressed 7-Zip package. The documented changes are limited to FAT32-compatible split exports for offline Level 1–3 processing, source-format preservation for Level 1 and Level 2, and earlier validation of split inputs in those two levels.
