A more complete firmware workflow
NAND Fix Pro 2.3 adds direct firmware downloads from the sthetix/NXFW repository while retaining support for firmware stored in a local folder. Users can therefore continue selecting files already available on their Windows computer or use the application's new download workflow.
The managed firmware library reports download progress, verifies files with SHA-256 checksums, reuses cached downloads, supports cancellation, and removes incomplete downloads. These features keep firmware handling inside the application and help prevent partial files from remaining after an interrupted operation.
Optional GitHub access support
The update also adds optional GitHub access token support. A token can be supplied when repository access requires authentication, but the release notes do not make it a requirement for ordinary use.
A cleaner interface
Application icons are now unified across the program's dialogs, and the firmware selection interface has been refined. These changes give the Windows application a more consistent presentation around the firmware workflow.
What NAND Fix Pro does
NAND Fix Pro is a Windows graphical tool for repairing Nintendo Switch NAND data. It offers three repair levels: a system restore intended to preserve user data, a full rebuild that erases user data, and a complete recovery that reconstructs a NAND when the original NAND or PRODINFO is unavailable.
The software can work with a Hekate-mounted eMMC or emuMMC target, or process an offline NAND backup without writing directly to hardware. It also supports split NAND layouts and includes a workflow for placing generated boot files in a Hekate restore folder. Its interface brings together operations involving tools such as EmmcHaccGen, NxNandManager, and OSFMount.
Important data and hardware considerations
The repair modes have different consequences. System Restore is intended for operating-system corruption while preserving saves, games, and profiles. A full rebuild and the separate USER partition repair erase user data, while Complete Recovery performs a total NAND overwrite. The project documentation recommends creating a complete NAND backup before attempting any repair.
Live repair requires the Switch to be exposed through Hekate, while offline repair uses a RAWNAND backup and the console's prod.keys file. Complete Recovery additionally requires a decrypted donor PRODINFO file. Because the tool can write directly to internal eMMC storage, an incorrect file, disconnected cable, or interrupted operation can permanently damage the console.
