HATS-Tools 1.7.4 focuses on bug fixes
HATS-Tools version 1.7.4 was published on October 16, 2026. Its release notes list bug fixes as the only change, without identifying individual issues. This is therefore a maintenance update rather than a documented feature release.
The downloadable file is hats-tools-1.7.4.zip, recorded at 2,370,153 bytes. HATS-Tools is a Nintendo Switch homebrew application based on Sphaira, with additional workflows focused on HATS pack management.
A central utility for Switch maintenance
HATS-Tools can download and stage HATS packs, download and validate firmware packages, manage installed components, browse and extract files from an SD card, and access a homebrew app shop.
Its Game Hub groups tools for browsing installed titles, installing NSP, XCI, NSZ and XCZ packages, backing up and restoring saves, and working with inserted game cards. The cheats manager can retrieve cheats through the nx-cheats-db workflow, preview codes, detect installed games and build IDs, and remove individual cheat files.
Network options include configured GitHub downloads, browser access, FTP and MTP workflows, and USB package installation. An automatic backup option can also copy the atmosphere and bootloader folders to timestamped locations under the SD card’s sdbackup folder before a HATS pack installation.
Installation context
The documented setup extracts the HATS-Tools archive to the root of a Nintendo Switch SD card. Installer functionality additionally requires the HATS Installer Payload, which must also be extracted to the SD card. HATS-Tools supports configurable sources for HATS packs and firmware, including alternative repositories or self-hosted releases, through its configuration file.
One feature requires particular care: Wipe SYSMMC resets the Switch’s SYSMMC, covering the OFW or stock system area, to factory defaults. The workflow includes a warning, countdown and cancellation option, but the reset cannot be undone.
