Elden Ring receives compatibility and graphics changes
Bachata S4+ version 0.2.5 improves Elden Ring compatibility, graphics handling and memory handling. The update also adds patches for Elden Ring, although the release notes do not explain which specific problems those patches address.
Bachata S4+ is an experimental PlayStation 4 emulation project for ARM64 Android devices. These changes are intended for the project’s Elden Ring compatibility work and should not be read as a guarantee of consistent results across every Android device or configuration.
Save Manager and Portuguese language support
This release adds a Save Manager. The notes do not list its supported operations, save formats or game coverage, so users will need to check the feature in the application to see how it applies to their setup.
Portuguese language support is also included. The release information does not specify which screens or settings have been translated.
Changes for The Last of Us Remastered and God of War 3
Version 0.2.5 fixes a regression affecting God of War 3 and The Last of Us Remastered. The notes do not identify the earlier behavior or provide technical details about the correction.
The Last of Us Remastered also receives new resolution patches. The release does not specify the available resolutions or explain their effect on image quality and performance.
Box64 is removed
Bachata S4+ previously included experimental Box64 work as an alternative x86-64 execution backend for ARM64 systems. Version 0.2.5 removes Box64, so that backend is not part of this build.
The project’s background documentation identifies FEX as an x86 and x86-64 userspace execution layer used on ARM64 devices. It also warns that PlayStation 4 emulation on Android remains highly experimental, with results varying according to factors such as the device, GPU, Android version, graphics driver, game version and emulator configuration.
Project background and availability
Bachata S4+ is an independent community modification based on Android binary releases of Bachata S4, not an official Bachata S4 release. Its wider project goals include PlayStation 4 emulation on ARM64 Android devices, controller support, touch controls, Vulkan compatibility work, memory improvements, per-game configuration and game-specific compatibility research.
The project warns that reaching gameplay does not mean a title is playable from beginning to end. Games may still encounter graphical problems, freezes, crashes, audio issues or input problems, and compatibility can change between builds.
The 0.2.5 build was published on October 7, 2026, as the APK Bachata-S4-Plus-v0.2.5.apk.
