Artemis cheats join the patch manager
ARMSX3 0.9.8.2, released on September 13, 2026, renames the Patches tab to Patches & Cheats and adds a Download Artemis cheats button alongside the existing rpcs3.net option. The Artemis Patch Collection provides 1,441 cheats across 171 games.
The two databases merge rather than replace one another, so both collections can remain available. Patch activation is now immediate: earlier versions reread the full database twice for each toggle, a delay that became noticeable with the larger collection.
Fixes and savestate controls from 0.9.8.1
The included 0.9.8.1 release fixed a crash that could occur when opening the app, refreshing the library or selecting a game. It also corrected a disc image appearing under another game's name. The crash required a particular kind of disc image in a scanned folder, so most setups were unaffected.
Savestate management gained per-state deletion and an option to remove every existing savestate, including files the manager cannot parse. The all-saves action asks for confirmation before deleting savestates on the device.
Blending and per-game mods
A new Blending setting offers Auto, Shader and Hardware modes in renderer settings and the in-game Graphics menu. Auto uses the GPU's blending unit where possible, Shader uses the shader path for every blended draw, and Hardware avoids that path entirely. The choice applies without leaving a game, although switching modes can briefly trigger shader compilation.
The update also introduces per-game mod folders with individual toggles. Mods are layered over game content at launch instead of being written into the original files. The manager can import archives, folders, individual game files, CPK files and PKG mod files. It warns when a mod targets another game or game version, while removing a mod deletes its stored files without altering the game installation.
The release notes caution that modded content can affect save data, so backing up saves before enabling mods is advisable. Controller remapping for players three through seven was also fixed in 0.9.8.1.
Android availability
ARMSX3 0.9.8.2 is available as Android APK builds for armv8.1 and armv8.2, with packages targeting Android SDK 30, 33 and 35. It emulates PlayStation 3 software on Android. The project README states that running it requires PlayStation 3 firmware, which is not included.
