A first PS Vita release for Code Veronica X
recvx_vita v.1.0 is the initial release of a PS Vita port of Resident Evil: Code Veronica X. The project is based on a decompilation of the PlayStation 2 version, and the release includes the application, setup files and data archives used to prepare the required assets.
The port runs on the PS Vita, while the documented preparation process uses a PC to process the required PlayStation 2 game files. The setup expects the NTSC-U PlayStation 2 ISO named recvx.iso.
Modern controls, first-person play and widescreen output
The game uses a 960×544 internal resolution and supports widescreen presentation, which is enabled by default. A modern controls option is also available. When it is enabled, first-person mode supports dual-analog controls using the PS Vita’s two analog sticks.
The release includes first-person mode alongside the standard gameplay perspective, giving players an alternative way to navigate and play.
Graphics and language options
MSAA is supported at up to 4×, with 4× selected by default. Players can also disable motion blur, which is disabled by default. A built-in cheats menu is included as well.
French, Spanish and German language support are listed among the release’s features. Widescreen output, the internal-resolution setting, antialiasing and motion-blur controls provide several ways to adjust the game’s presentation.
Documented installation process
The release requires libshacccg.suprx on the PS Vita. After installing the recvx_vita VPK, extract setup.zip into a folder on a PC and place a copy of the Resident Evil: Code Veronica X NTSC-U PlayStation 2 ISO in that folder under the filename recvx.iso.
The supplied preparation process uses Python 3.10 or newer and FFmpeg to generate the required assets. After processing, place recvx.iso, native-assets.psarc and movies.psarc in ux0:data/recvx on the PS Vita, then extract data.zip into the same directory.
The additional options menu can be opened by touching the top-left area of the PS Vita screen.
Release details
recvx_vita v.1.0 was published on October 28, 2026. The release notes identify it as the project’s initial release and do not list later fixes or version-specific changes. The project credits the team behind the original decompilation, the contributors who adapted its core for PS Vita, testing across multiple full runs and the creator of the LiveArea assets.
