Wuthering Waves Version 3.7, “Prism’s Illusion, Heart’s Illumination,” is scheduled to launch on September 30, 2026. The update is positioned as a substantial expansion for the open-world action RPG: it advances the main narrative, introduces two Resonators, opens a new area, adds events and equipment, and delivers an unusually broad set of management, presentation and download improvements.
The most consequential additions may not all be the most immediately flashy ones. Hsin and Suoming, new Echoes, weapons and a fresh story chapter will naturally be central for players pursuing new combat options and narrative material. But Version 3.7 also tackles the routine friction of a long-running game: large Echo inventories, a limited number of saved parties, players wanting to revisit prior story content, and the practical compromise between graphical fidelity and storage space.
That combination gives the update two distinct roles. It is new content for active players, while also being an attempt to make existing content and account management easier to return to over time.
A new chapter, a new quest and Mengzhou’s Simulacrum Nexus
The main story continues with Chapter IV Act IV: Simulacrum of the Heart. Version 3.7 also includes the Tales Quest Moonlike Heart, Mortal Longing, giving the update a separate named quest alongside the core narrative continuation.

A new location, Simulacrum Nexus of Mengzhou, is being added as part of the patch. The term “Simulacrum” appears repeatedly throughout the update’s story and area names, suggesting a clear thematic throughline, although the available details do not establish the area’s exact function, size or story position beyond its arrival in Version 3.7.
Blooms for the Shadow will also arrive as a permanent event. That designation matters: unlike a limited-time activity, it should remain part of the game after the update’s launch window, giving players a new ongoing piece of content rather than another deadline-driven task.
Hsin and Suoming join the Resonator lineup
Version 3.7 introduces Hsin and Suoming through Featured Resonator Convenes. In Wuthering Waves terminology, Resonators are the playable characters, while a Convene is the game’s acquisition banner system. The update will therefore be especially important for players planning future character and weapon pulls.

The named Featured Resonator Convenes are divided into two phases:
- Phase I: As Full as Tonight, Forever; Horizon of Dawnbreak; Across Time’s Waxes and Wanes.
- Phase II: Nine Deaths, One Unbent Heart; Tomorrow in the Frame; Undefined Spectrum.
New weapons include Blooming Jadehaven and Unspoken Rue. The listed weapon Convenes are likewise split across the patch:
- Phase I weapons: Blooming Jadehaven, Kumokiri and Moongazer’s Sigil.
- Phase II weapons: Unspoken Rue, Freeze Frame and Spectrum Blaster.
The preview does not attach detailed combat kits, weapon categories, probabilities or phase dates to these names. As a result, players can identify the incoming acquisition lineup but should not treat the current information as a complete build or banner-planning guide.
Echo additions expand the gear pool
Five new Echoes are coming in Version 3.7: Formrender, Soulfrayer, Skywatch Lancer, Bloomburst Puppet and Jade Nether Serpent. Echoes are equipable combat items in Wuthering Waves, and the patch will also add three Sonata Effects: Heart of Sworn Vigil, Flash of Electric Reflection and Flower of Tinged Yearning.
A Sonata Effect is the set-bonus side of the Echo system. The addition of three new effects means the update is expanding not simply the list of individual pieces players can obtain, but the potential set-building choices around them. However, no mechanical effects or stat details have been specified here, so conclusions about which Resonators benefit most must wait for the full in-game information.
Players will additionally be able to obtain Phantom: Skywatch Lancer. Phantom Echoes are visually distinct variants, making this an item of interest for players who value appearance as well as collection progress.
Echo inventory changes could be one of the patch’s biggest everyday improvements
Version 3.7’s Echo-management changes may have a wider day-to-day effect than any single new Echo. Unequipped, non-upgraded Echoes in the Echo Backpack will automatically stack when they share the same Echo type, Sonata Effect and Mainstat, with up to 999 copies represented by one backpack item.
“Mainstat” refers to an item’s principal stat line: the core stat category that helps determine whether an Echo is a plausible fit for a particular build. The stacking rule is intentionally specific. Echoes only merge visually in the inventory when their type, set affiliation and Mainstat all match, rather than grouping every copy of an enemy-derived Echo into a single vague pile.
This approach should retain meaningful distinctions while removing repeated inventory entries that are effectively identical at a glance. The system applies only to Echoes that are both unequipped and not upgraded, avoiding the risk of obscuring items a player has already invested in or assigned to a character.
Automatic stacking will recognize item status in this order: Locked, Discarded, then Unmarked. That priority indicates that player-made item decisions remain part of the organization logic rather than being erased in favour of a purely cosmetic consolidation.
Echo recommendations and equipment suggestions are also being adjusted for Resonators with two Resonance Modes. Those characters will receive Resonance Mode-specific Echo set recommendations. In practical terms, a recommendation can better reflect the selected mode instead of treating a dual-mode character as if one universal loadout were always the best fit.
Older main quests become replayable
A new Main Quest Replay option is being introduced through the Journey Log. At launch, it will cover main quests from Version 1.1, Thaw of Eons; the Version 1.2 Moon-Chasing Festival event, In the Turquoise Moonglow; and Version 1.3 main quests, To the Shore’s End.
Replay Mode saves progress automatically when a player exits. It can also be reset manually, allowing a chapter to be started over rather than merely resumed. More chapters are planned for future versions.
This feature addresses a familiar live-service-game problem: story material is often experienced once amid updates, events and progression goals, while revisiting key scenes later can be difficult or impossible. The initial catalog is limited to specified Version 1.1 through 1.3 content, so it is not yet a complete archive of the game’s narrative. Still, its arrival creates a foundation for a broader in-game history library if the promised additions continue.
A camera update built for composition rather than simple screenshots
The Camera System gains Handheld and Selfie Modes, including adjustable poses and expressions. Tripod Mode is receiving a more freely controllable drone perspective. New tools include Reference Lines, Quick Focus and Lens Templates, while players will be able to alter Time, Weather and Foliage Wind Direction from the camera screen.
Reference Lines are composition overlays intended to help frame subjects and horizons. Quick Focus is a photography-style control aimed at choosing what receives visual emphasis. Lens Templates offer preconfigured looks or setups, while lighting templates can be selected for each Resonator.
Global Filter parameters will also be adjustable from the Camera screen. Together, these changes shift the feature beyond a basic capture menu. Players will have more direct control over framing, focus, environmental mood, character posing and image treatment without needing to wait for a particular world condition.
The update further adds cosmetic options connected to Hsin, Suoming and Rover. Hsin’s Where Dreams Shine Clear accessory and Rover’s Not Even Close accessory are tied to Moonlit Path milestones. Hsin’s Spring in Bloom accessory and Suoming’s Glazed Roseate accessory will be in the Store. The Hsin and Moon WavesLine Look is also listed as a Store purchase.
Twenty team slots and a cautious resource-download test
Team management is expanding to 20 available team setups. Players will be able to reorder and name those setups, a useful organizational step for anyone keeping separate squads for exploration, combat activities or different character combinations.
A 3D Team Setup Mode is also being introduced, with the option to switch between 2D and 3D displays. Some devices may not support the 3D mode, an explicit compatibility limitation worth noting before players expect the same menu presentation across every platform.
On PC, iOS and Android, Version 3.7 begins a limited test of Tiered Client Resource Downloads. Eligible PC players can select UHD, HD or SD resource tiers, while eligible mobile players can choose HD or SD. The design is straightforward: resource tiers let players choose a balance between installed download size and visual quality.
The rollout will be gradual as feedback is monitored, and eligibility is specifically mentioned. It should therefore be understood as a limited test rather than a guaranteed universal setting on day one. Even so, it is a meaningful practical change for players who must manage device storage or who would rather prioritize a smaller client over higher-resolution assets.
Events and login rewards across the Version 3.7 cycle
The update’s event list includes Cubie Wars, the seven-day Gifts of Waking Moon login event, Echo Erase, Dreams in the Capsule area exploration event, Past Dreams Traced Seals photo collection event, Artisan’s Search featured combat event, and Beyond the Waves: Land of Xuanfang featured exploration event.
Waking Moon Fishing and Back to Solaris are also planned as web events. The preview names the activities and their broad categories, but does not provide complete task lists or reward tables for each one.
One fully dated reward period is Gifts of Singing Drizzle, running from October 22, 2026 at 10:00 until November 11, 2026 at 03:59 in server time. Logging in during that period can provide a total of Radiant Tide ×10, alongside additional rewards. Players should pay attention to their own server’s clock, since the stated start and end times are explicitly tied to server time.
Fan initiatives and RIBOSE prototypes round out the preview
Outside the update itself, the Version 3.7 preview includes the Solaris Starry Stage program for fan creations and Wuwa Tappo desktop pet software. It also revealed collaboration merchandise with RIBOSE, including painted prototypes for Tea Break Moments chibi figures featuring Jinhsi and Changli.
For the game proper, Version 3.7’s central message is scale paired with maintenance. Simulacrum of the Heart, Hsin, Suoming, Mengzhou and the new Echo content offer reasons to engage with the new patch. Main Quest Replay, stacked Echo inventory entries, mode-aware recommendations, larger team capacity, deep camera controls and tiered downloads aim to make the wider Wuthering Waves experience more manageable. The latter group will not replace new adventures, but it could make the time spent between them appreciably smoother.
