Control Resonant Urban Survival Walkthrough: All Locations and Rewards

Urban Survival is an Evacuation Zone side quest in Control Resonant built around an initially simple lead: a line of unauthorized mines near a parking lot. Following that trail brings players to a survivalist barricaded inside a warehouse bunker. Getting him to leave, however, requires a series of retrieval jobs across the city—some involving people only in the loosest possible sense of the word.

The quest’s key locations are concentrated in the Evacuation Zone, but its objectives shift after each conversation with the survivalist. The most reliable approach is to treat the bunker as the central turn-in point: complete the requested pickups, return to the intercom, listen for the next task, and then head back out. That structure matters because the request for the brother does not begin until both earlier items have been delivered.

How to start Urban Survival

Go to the Unauthorized Mines in the Evacuation Zone. At the entrance to the Parking Lot, find and read the collectible called “Investigation Order.” Reading it starts Urban Survival.

From there, follow the mines through the Parking Lot. Continue out of the lot toward the south. The trail leads to the Survivalist’s Bunker, located inside a warehouse. The survivalist is contacted through the bunker’s intercom rather than by entering and meeting him face to face at this point.

His first assignment is to locate two things: Olivia and Granny. The names invite assumptions, but the quest’s joke is that neither pickup is a conventional rescue.

Step 1: Get Olivia from Pulse Fitness Gym

Olivia is in the back office of the Pulse Fitness Gym. The area is occupied by Hiss, so clear those enemies before attempting to retrieve the objective. Once the route into the office is open, pick up Olivia.

Olivia is not a missing person. She is a potted plant. The important gameplay takeaway is straightforward: do not keep searching the gym for an NPC after reaching the back office. The plant itself is the required item, and collecting it advances that half of the objective.

Practical route note

Because Urban Survival asks for Olivia and Granny before requiring a return, it is sensible to finish both pickups before going back to the bunker. That avoids an unnecessary extra trip through the Parking Lot and warehouse route. The quest’s structure supports this: the survivalist’s next instruction only follows delivery of both items.

Step 2: Find Granny in the northeast apartment building

Next, travel to the northeast apartment building. Its usable entry route is through the rooftop entrance, so approaching at street level is not the solution described by the quest path.

Enter via the roof, take the elevator down, then go into the one apartment that can be accessed. Granny is inside—but, like Olivia, Granny is an object rather than a living character. The quest item is an urn.

With the potted plant and urn acquired, return to the Survivalist’s Bunker and use the intercom again. This is the handoff that moves Urban Survival into its final search.

Step 3: Find the Survivalist’s car and take the keys

After Olivia and Granny are returned, the survivalist asks for help finding his brother. The first part of this new objective is not the brother’s location: it is finding the survivalist’s car and collecting its keys.

The vehicle is in the Far North Evac Zone. Look for a large, boxy car positioned in front of a street that has been blocked by Mold. That visual landmark is useful because the quest identifies the car through its setting as well as its shape. Take the keys once you locate the vehicle.

Mold here refers to the obstruction blocking the street, not a path to force through for this stage. The car is the relevant destination; the blocked road is the marker that confirms players are in the right place.

Step 4: Investigate the apartment building for the brother

With the keys in hand, return to the apartment building and head upstairs. The brother has been taken by the Hiss, so there is no rescue encounter to complete. Instead, collect the picture of the two brothers and bring it back to the survivalist.

Returning the photograph completes Urban Survival. It is an intentionally bleak turn after the earlier errands: the final item provides a memento rather than a way to bring the missing brother home.

Urban Survival rewards

Completing the quest awards the Plate Carrier M1 outer-layer outfit piece and the Untapped Heart Monitor Artifact.

The artifact has a particularly useful effect: it grants a one-time free respawn when the player would otherwise die. In practical terms, a “free respawn” is an extra safety net for a fatal mistake or difficult fight. It is explicitly one use, so players should not treat it as permanent immunity or an endlessly repeatable revival.

Urban Survival also opens access to the Bunker. Inside is a container holding materials. This means the quest pays out in three distinct ways: a cosmetic outer layer, a survival-oriented artifact, and access to an additional material container.

Why the bunker return matters

The chief source of confusion in Urban Survival is not a complex puzzle but the order of its requests. First, the survivalist needs Olivia and Granny. Only after receiving both does he direct the player toward the car, keys, and brother’s photograph.
