What’s Active Matter about?
Active Matter is a tactical multiplayer shooter set in locations outside normal space and time. Players take the role of operatives caught in a time loop, returning to the same point after death. Before entering a quantum-unstable zone, they choose a loadout and prepare to compete against rivals from other timelines.
The zones contain active matter, a substance capable of warping space and time, alongside physics-breaking anomalies that make survival unpredictable. Operatives must fight, explore, harvest the valuable substance and collect loot before extracting to safety. If the zone collapses, everything left inside is lost. Maps include a vast island marked by rusting Soviet industrial sites and cryptic laboratories, where exploration may reveal clues about active matter’s origin. Cooperative and MMO-style multiplayer support broadens the tactical conflict.
