Build 4097 is now available

Vita3K’s continuous release has reached build 4097. It corresponds to commit b5211c0d8736f3c1f20802447d12874b7fdbfced and was published on September 20, 2026, at 14:56:42 UTC.

The release notes list only the build number and commit, so they do not document particular fixes, compatibility changes or performance improvements in this update. This is a rolling development build, so it should be treated as experimental rather than as a stable release.

What Vita3K does

Vita3K is an experimental PlayStation Vita emulator for Windows, Linux, macOS and Android. It runs supported Vita software and homebrew programs on those host platforms rather than on a physical Vita console.

The project says Vita3K currently runs most homebrew programs and commercial games, while warning that users can encounter crashes, graphical glitches, limited compatibility and poor performance. Compatibility varies by title, so the project’s homebrew and commercial compatibility information remains relevant when checking a particular game or application.

Packages are available for desktop and mobile systems

The continuous release includes Windows archives for x86-64 and ARM64 systems. macOS users can choose between the standard package and an ARM64 package, while Linux users can download x86-64 or ARM64 ZIP archives and matching AppImage packages.

An Android APK is also included. The project lists Adreno drivers for Android users, OpenGL or Vulkan runtime libraries and xdg-desktop-portal for Linux users, and the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable for Windows users. These platform requirements are separate from the Vita software being emulated.

The release files include android-latest.apk, macos-latest.dmg, macos-arm64-latest.dmg, ubuntu-latest.zip, ubuntu-aarch64-latest.zip, windows-latest.zip and windows-arm64-latest.zip. Linux AppImage files are supplied for both x86-64 and ARM64 systems, along with corresponding zsync files.

A development build with no listed fixes

Build 4097 is aimed at users who want the newest development version and are prepared for ongoing changes. Since the notes do not mention a specific bug fix, compatibility update or performance change, they offer no evidence of a particular benefit for any game or application in this build.

Vita3K is licensed under GPLv2. Its documentation also covers running the emulator, checking compatibility and building from source.
