Initial release brings Pokémon Colosseum to PSVita

Pokémon Colosseum Vita reached version v.1.0 on November 6, 2026. It is a PSVita port of Pokémon Colosseum based on a decompilation of the original GameCube version.

The release provides PokémonColosseum.vpk and setup.zip. The VPK is the Vita package, while the setup archive contains the tools used to prepare the game data from the required GameCube image.

Display and navigation features

The port supports a 960x544 internal resolution and 4x MSAA antialiasing. Widescreen support is available by default, adapting the GameCube game to the Vita display.

The Summary screen also supports fast scrolling with L and R, making it quicker to move through the Pokémon list.

Touch options and shader caching

Touching the top-left portion of the Vita screen opens an additional options menu, providing access to extra settings through the system’s touchscreen.

The project uses a shader cache. When a required shader is missing from the cache, the related model may not appear for a few seconds. The README asks users to share their collected shader list in that situation so it can be integrated into the shared cache included with a VPK.

Preparing the required game data

The documented setup requires the Vita shader compiler support file libshacccg.suprx if it is not already installed. It also requires the NTSC-U revision 0 GameCube version identified as Pokémon Colosseum NTSC-U, product code GC6E01, Revision 0. The image must be named colosseum.iso.

Extract setup.zip into a folder on a PC, place colosseum.iso in that folder, and use Python 3.10 or later with the NumPy package to run the included setup script. The script processes the image and creates an output folder containing the port data.

Copy the generated data to ux0:data/colosseum on the Vita. The completed directory should contain colosseum-data.psarc and movies.psarc. The setup archive therefore prepares data from the required GameCube image rather than replacing that image.

An early port with limited release notes

Version v.1.0 is the project’s initial release, and its release notes list no earlier fixes or feature additions. The README cautions that the game has not been tested from start to finish, so glitches, crashes, performance problems or other issues may still occur.

Pokémon Colosseum Vita launches with its documented display, navigation and touchscreen features while remaining an early port. Users who encounter problems can report them, and shader-cache data may help improve the shared cache used by later VPK builds.
