About the movie
Characters: Allery Parkes, his wife Iola, neighbor Walter Brewer, the local community and the company’s former corporate bosses. Situation: the last factory in a small Rust Belt town has closed. Central conflict: Allery, a longtime factory employee, refuses to accept a life of idleness and faces opposition from former bosses while trying to revive the plant. Allery, urged against by Iola, befriends Walter and helps rally the town to restart the defunct factory, discovering his capacity to lead as corporate interests maneuver to stop the effort.
