About the movie
Characters include stoic labour leader Ceca, the unionized workers of a rural Balkan town, their mysterious new member Mija, and the plant owners accused of wrongdoing. The situation: five years after a deadly factory fire that destroyed the town’s main livelihood, the owners have avoided legal consequences and blocked reparations. The central conflict pits the union’s fight for justice against the owners’ power while internal division grows as Mija’s pagan-led ritual and subsequent strange, sinister occurrences unsettle the community.
