About the movie
Characters: Nellie, Daisy and Lou, girls sent to reform institutions and supervised by a devout Matron. In 1954 New Zealand Nellie and Daisy’s failed escape leads to transfer to a remote island facility where Lou soon joins them. The trio bond and resist the institution’s religious authority, but experimental nighttime punishments and Lou’s fear of breaking rules turn their planned rebellion into a bitter conflict.
