About the movie
Characters: Kirsty (Hermione Corfield), her mother, her younger sister, and Murdo (Will Fletcher). They live in a small, remote village in the Outer Scottish Hebrides as World War I approaches. Kirsty longs for adventure and a life overseas, falls in love with the thoughtful poet Murdo, who is soon conscripted; a village road dance held as a farewell is followed by an unspeakable incident that shatters the community and changes Kirsty’s life.
