About the movie
Characters include Hawk; a mysterious traveler Jefferson (Martin Sheen); Alexis (Olivia Sanabia); her mother Lisa (Jana Kramer); Aunt Jordan; little sister Melanie; and dad Jim (Nick Zano). Hawk has just aged out of Chicago’s foster system, takes a one-way train to see the tallest Christmas tree with only a guitar and undiagnosed PTSD, and faces homelessness, panic attacks and traumatic flashbacks. He meets Jefferson, then Alexis, a runaway grieving her twin, and Lisa, who avoids her own grief, creating a family rift; Alexis and Hawk write the song “Are You Here” (We The Kings) and she helps him reach the tree lighting ceremony, where tragedy strikes and Jefferson returns to help.
