About the movie
Characters: Liam (Joey Bader), Mel (Kaylee McGregor), and Chester (Oliver Woolf). Situation: In the aftermath of a mysterious war, two bloodied, speechless survivors take refuge at an isolated English cottage where enigmatic caretaker Chester bathes, feeds, and teaches them to speak while running a reward system of “nifties” for good behavior. Central conflict: Mel grows restless and drawn to the woods and a locked gate, resisting Chester’s strict boundaries and threatening the fragile order. As sirens, smoke, and distant threats close in, Liam adapts to Chester’s routines while Mel’s curiosity tests the loyalties and fears holding their makeshift family together.
