About the movie
Chris Masterman, an ex–TV personality, becomes stranded in an Outback town outside Alice Springs where he meets 12-year-old Indigenous girl Charlie. The two form an unlikely friendship and collaborate to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned joeys in the remote community. Their joint effort to care for the animals and run the sanctuary transforms both of their lives. Kangaroo is inspired by the life of Chris 'Brolga' Barns, founder of The Kangaroo Sanctuary, Alice Springs.
