About the movie
Characters: Marija, a high-flying executive, and her husband Vytas. Situation: Marija chooses to tell Vytas she wants a divorce one day before Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine begins. Central conflict: the couple must confront separation while war triggers refugee flows and amplifies a mid-life crisis. Recast: Their attempt to end the marriage becomes entangled with displacement, legal and emotional upheaval, and the pressures of starting over amid conflict.
