About the movie
Characters: Carol, her husband Gary, their child, and a corporate-sent replacement robot called “Carol 2”; situation: a near-future of poor air quality where people live largely virtual lives; central conflict: Carol leaves for a digital wellness retreat and returns to find her family living with a robotic duplicate, triggering a mysterious, sinister turn. Carol, a dissatisfied career mother worried her marriage and family connections are collapsing, signs up for DreamQuil to reclaim her life. When she comes home from the retreat, the presence of Carol 2 upends the household and escalates tension in unsettling ways.
