About the movie
Characters: a young mom, her new baby, her frequently working husband, and the preacher’s wife at the local church. Situation: the family has moved to a new town and the mom becomes involved with the popular church, enrolling her infant in the church daycare run by the preacher’s wife. Central conflict: the preacher’s wife gradually assumes the baby’s primary care and seeks to portray the new mother as unfit. In the new town the mom looks for community support, but the daycare relationship shifts control over her child and undermines her parenting role.
