About the movie
Characters: an unnamed man who has stopped cancer treatment, his mother, his wife, and the young son he records for. Situation: he retreats alone to his family’s isolated cabin during a harsh snowy winter with only sporadic contact by phone. Central conflict: he wrestles with a hazy, unresolved tragedy and escalating evidence—camcorder tapes with distortions and threatening sounds—that something supernatural may be present. Alone and trying to create stability by filming messages for his son, he becomes convinced the house is haunted as old VHS footage and a found camera intensify his dread.
