About the movie
In Lagos, Nigeria, Clarissa (Sophie Okonedo) spends a single day preparing to host a high-society party at her home while encounters with distant friends and former lovers from her youth begin to consume her. At the same time Septimus (Fortune Nwafo[r]), a young soldier, is tormented by memories of horrors he has witnessed and endured. The film shifts between past and present and between bourgeois life and those marginalized by society. Those intersecting perspectives form a careful portrait of contemporary Nigeria.
