About the movie
Characters: Tommy Akhtar (played by Riz Ahmed), his ailing father, and Melody, a high-class prostitute who comes seeking help. Situation: Tommy is a deadbeat private eye who keeps an office above a cab firm, smokes cigarettes, drinks bourbon and hides a finely tuned moral compass behind sharp cynicism. Central conflict: Melody’s request drags Tommy into a modern noir investigation that forces him to balance loyalty to his ill father with a reluctant sense of duty.
