About the movie
Characters: Joseph Bau, the Nazi who tormented him, and the prisoners whose lives he helped save. In Nazi camps Bau used his skills as an artist and forger to produce identity papers that enabled hundreds to escape and to sustain acts of resistance. Amid the brutality he fell in love, and years later he testified against his tormentor, drawing strength from that love, his art, and his will to survive.
