What’s Permafrost about?
Permafrost is a survival role-playing adventure set in a world locked in perpetual winter after an apocalyptic catastrophe in 2035. Civilization has fractured, communication has failed, and the remnants of humanity struggle across a frozen wasteland where people and wildlife compete for dwindling resources. The player takes the role of a survivor exploring the ruins of the old world and confronting the demands of life in an unforgiving environment.
Hunting and gathering are central to staying alive, while crafting and construction provide ways to turn scarce materials into useful equipment and shelter. The game combines simulation-focused survival systems with open-world exploration, placing resource management and preparation at the heart of each journey through the ice. Encounters can involve the wider human struggle as well as the threats posed by the environment and its creatures. Permafrost supports solo play as well as multiplayer and cooperative experiences, allowing survival to be approached alone or alongside others.
