What’s Paperhead about?
Paperhead is a fast-paced first-person shooter with an unusual horror premise: its world is built from paper and cardboard, yet something inside a secret research facility has made its papercut inhabitants bleed. You investigate this disturbing change while fighting through a setting that combines a deliberately cute visual style with unsettling consequences.
Combat is built around momentum and improvisation. A pencil serves as your weapon, while sliding, kicking explosive barrels, launching enemies into the air and jumping on foes all add physicality to encounters. The pencil also extends beyond combat, functioning as a reality-altering puzzle tool. When the environment blocks your path, drawing an object such as a door can provide a way forward. Together, these abilities make exploration and problem-solving part of the same strange paper-based fantasy.
